The Common Core State Standards Overview

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe, but graduation is about 9 weeks away! I look forward to having graduation in our Titan Stadium on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 6:30pm.

There is still plenty of work to do between now and then!  It is our vision that every single student will graduate ready for college and career. Therefore, it is imperative that we work together to finish strong: that we ensure that our students work hard, that they turn in all assignments, and that they study for every assessment so we stay true to our vision. We are very proud of the progress Colony continues to make, and I encourage everyone to visit the California Department of Education website and explore the School Dashboard for Colony High School to see affirmation of this success!

This year, as they do every year, our juniors will take the California State Standards Assessments known as the CAASP. This test emphasizes higher order thinking skills and college readiness, and it will take place April 9th through the 20th. Our seniors will be taking the California Science Test during this time as well.  We are excited because these assessments offer our students the opportunity to showcase their achievement. Our Advanced Placement (AP) testing begins May 7th and continues through May 18th.

Our spring events and sports are also underway.  Our Performing Arts groups have their spring presentations in production.  Swim, baseball, softball, track and field are all competing, and we expect great things from all our teams. Our Titan Color Guard is also competing this season. Please come out and show your support for all of our Titans!

As always, we know that it is our partnership with our parents and community that ensures our students success. We appreciate your support and patience.

Please feel free to contact me any time.

Mr. Danhof

Testing Information

University of LaVerne - Clinical Lab Day

Clinical Lab Day Flyer

Did you know that the Clinical Laboratory Scientist career is in dire need of workers?

Did you know that over 60% of all decisions regarding a patient’s diagnosis and treatments go through a Clinical Laboratory Scientist?

This amazing event is hosted by the University of La Verne (Biology Department) and the Inland Health Professions Coalition. Attached is a flyer to Clinical Lab Science Day. This is an event in which middle school and high school students learn about the careers that take place in the laboratory. Our keynote speaker will be the Director of the new Kaiser Permanente Reference Lab located in Chino Hills. Students will also attend three breakout sessions, two of which students will complete urine and blood sample lab experiments.
