Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement Classes for 2016-2017

Advanced Placement courses offer college-level curriculum on the high school campus.  Upon successful completion of the national examinations in May of each year (Advanced Placement test scores of 3, 4, or 5), students may earn college credit and/or advanced standing at many colleges.

In order to encourage and reinforce student participation in these rigorous academic courses, a five-point grading system is used for all honors and Advanced Placement courses.

Colony High School’s Advanced Placement teachers participate in continued professional development to assist them in creating curriculum that is both challenging and interesting to students on a variety of levels.

Advanced Placement courses are open to all students that have the desire and determination to be academically challenged at the college-level.  Each year in early March, Colony High School hosts Advanced Placement Night where parents and students can learn about grade appropriate Advanced Placement classes offered in the fall.
